Houston King Mini Biography

• Houston King is a consultant to leading independent filmmakers, specializing in maximizing the sales value for completed films into the U.S. and international market place as well as securing funds for their next projects. Since making the transition from corporate finance to film, Houston King has raised over $3m for film projects, produced a theatrically released film, licensed 35 films to domestic theatrical, video, TV distributors and foreign sales agents as well as managed the theatrical distribution of 3 films. As a Producer's Representative, Houston King secures aggressive distribution deals for films. In a very short period of time, Houston King has established relationships with over 100 distributors. These relationships span theatrical, video and TV both within the U.S. and internationally. Houston King oversees the entire process of sales strategy, development and execution. Furthermore, he stays on board through the distribution and accounting process to act as in the best interests of filmmakers when dealing with distributors of their films. Similar to John Sloss' tremendously successful Cinetic Media model, Houston King aims to build on-going relationships with filmmakers. By helping them distribute their film successfully, Houston King often continues the next project together to raise financing. Before entering the film business, Houston spent six years specializing in capital raising and mergers and acquisitions in the Corporate Finance terms of ING Barings and previously with Lehman Brothers. Houston participated in raising over $250 million for companies across a wide spectrum of industries and negotiated and executed transactions worth over $1 billion.
